This baby Pygmy hippo is made to order. 
Please allow 10-12 weeks make time before shipping. Your hippo will ship out via USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground by March 5, 2025. You may receive your hippo sooner as I will be shipping out as I complete them.

Each hippo is handmade in porcelain

Each hippo is entirely made by hand. Your hippo will have its mouth open and be slightly different from the one pictured in the listing. This means there can be very slight variations in color between each piece. Details such as ear and eye placement, head tilt, etc. will vary from piece to piece.

This hippo is made by hand in porcelain, hand-painted in mottled grey and brown with a pink underbelly. It is then glazed all over to give it a shiny, glossy surface, evocative of a Pygmy hippo’s “wet” look. The hippo is fired in a kiln to 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. This process can result in minor imperfections characteristic of handmade ceramic art. Thank you for understanding.

Ornament or figurine

You may select your hippo to be made either as an ornament, which includes a wire hanger that has been embedded into the soft clay and fired in place, or a figurine, which does not include the embedded wire and cannot be hung. If you are purchasing from a mobile phone and have any trouble making your selection between ornament or figurine please email me within 24 hours of purchase. Once I begin production, your choice of ornament or figurine cannot be changed. Beyond this choice, I am unable to accommodate specific requests for customization of the baby Pygmy hippo.
